Your AI can read and create the templates you keep in Projul: estimate templates, section templates and cost-item library entries. Estimate and section templates live in the "Templates" panel under your initials, and library entries live under "Manage Cost Templates".
The three kinds of templates
An estimate template is a full layout with sections and lines, applied with "Apply estimate template". A section template is one section with its lines, like a "Demolition" section you drop into any job. A cost-item library entry is one line with its cost, unit and markup, like "Finish carpentry labor, per hour". Your AI can read and create all three.
Creating a template
Ask for an estimate template by name and describe its sections; your AI creates the empty template first, then adds each section with its lines, so a big template takes a few approvals.
Create an estimate template in Projul called [Bathroom Remodel] with sections for [demolition, plumbing rough-in, electrical, tile and waterproofing, fixtures and finish]. Use my usual labor rate of [$55]/hr plus [40]% and materials at cost plus [25]%, and put in typical quantities for a [5 by 9 bathroom].
Section templates and library entries work the same way, just with less to build.
Add [Finish carpentry labor] to my cost-item library in Projul: [$58] per hour, [40]% markup, labor.
Note: Changing a library entry changes what your AI uses on future estimates. Estimates that already used that item keep the price they were built with, and deleting an entry does not change lines already created from it.
Using templates on an estimate
When you ask for an estimate, your AI looks at your templates and library first. Name the template and it copies it onto the new estimate; your account's default estimate template is not applied on its own, so name the one you want. Name a section template and it drops that section in after the others. It can look a library item up by name, SKU or vendor, and where a line matches one, it uses that item's price. Note: Copying a template never changes the template. Projul recalculates every amount on the copy from the costs and markup saved in the template, so a template you built at last year's prices lands on the estimate at those prices.
Finding your templates in Projul
Click your initials, click "Templates", and estimate templates are under "Estimates Templates" with section templates under "Estimate Section Templates" in the same panel. Cost-item library entries are under "Manage Cost Templates" there, or "Go to cost templates" on the "Estimates" page.
