Tell your AI what phase is starting, which house, when, and who, and it creates the task in Projul on the "Schedule" for those people. Tasks with no date are unscheduled, and any task can be moved, restaffed, or completed by asking.
Putting a phase on the calendar
Your AI needs a Read-Write key, and the people you name must already exist under "People" as employees or subcontractors, named the way they appear there.
Create a task on [Kessler Residence] in Projul called [Form and pour footings] for [Monday and Tuesday next week], [7 am to 3:30 pm] both days, and put [Joel Tate] and [Karen Pierce] on it.
A task can also run several days with different people on different windows, so a framing task can hold the whole crew for the deck and just two carpenters at the end.
Crews, teams, and a moving schedule
Name a team instead of a person and your AI puts everyone currently on it on the task; a later change to the team does not rewrite work already scheduled. See assigning a crew and how your AI uses teams.
When the job slides, ask your AI to push one task or the whole tail out, or move a task and keep the same crew.
The truss delivery on [Kessler Residence] slipped to [March 19]. In Projul, push [Set trusses] and everything after it out by [two days], and tell me what moved.
Note: If someone edits a task in Projul while your AI is working on it, Projul refuses the change and your AI re-reads the task before retrying, so a superintendent's edit is not overwritten.
Checklists, photos, and repeatable schedules
Your AI can also write a checklist on a task, check off steps, and mark tasks complete (see checklists and completing tasks), add inspections and recurring items like a weekly site walk (see repeating tasks), and upload job-site photos or documents to a task (see uploading a photo or document).
For a repeat plan, it can start a whole job from a project or schedule template on a chosen date, crews included. See starting from a template and building a whole job schedule at once.
Things to know
Note: Only active employees and subcontractors can be assigned; a deactivated person cannot be, and your AI tells you so. A repeating task cannot have a checklist, and your AI schedules in your Projul time zone, so say which one you mean if you build across zones.
Note: Time tracking, the clock, and time logs are not available to your AI. Hours worked are recorded in Projul as they are today.
