Whether your AI can upload a photo or document into "Photos & files" depends on the tool. One that can send a file from your computer can do it; a chat assistant in a browser or on your phone cannot, though it can still read, list and attach files already there.
What your AI needs
Uploading takes a Read-Write API key, since it changes your Projul data; a Read key covers reading and listing. Every file belongs to a project, so tell your AI which one.
Telling your AI what to upload
A tool that runs on your computer can upload because it can send a file from a folder. So can Make, n8n and any custom integration that can send a file over HTTP. The Projul app in Zapier has no file action. With a tool that runs on your computer, name the file and the project.
Upload [~/Desktop/framing-day-3.jpg] to the [Thompson Deck Rebuild] project in Projul and label it [Framing, day 3].
Note: A file attaches to an estimate, change order or estimate line only while that version is a Draft; on a sent or accepted estimate the upload still lands on the project, but the attachment is refused. Task attachments work anytime.
File types and limits
Projul accepts jpg, jpeg, png, gif and bmp images, and pdf, txt, csv, doc, docx, xls and xlsx documents, matched by extension. Each file can be up to 50 MB, or your account's own limit if it has set one. HEIC photos need converting to jpg first. An AI tool can start about ten uploads a minute, so a hundred photos takes about ten minutes.
What you will see
Your AI asks you to approve the upload and confirms when done. In Projul, click "Photos & files" in the left menu, or the project's folder or camera icon. Images are under "Gallery", documents under "Files", in the view dropdown. A photo card shows the project name and any note your AI added; turn on "Photo name" under "Customize" to show the label too.
If your AI cannot upload, add the file in Projul the way you do today, then ask your AI to label it, note it, or attach it to a task or estimate. See How do I attach files to a task or an estimate with my AI?.
