Your AI can attach a file that is already in a project's "Photos & files" to a task, an estimate or change order, a single estimate line item, or a note.
What to say to your AI
Give your AI the project, the file name as it appears under "Photos & files", and where to attach it.
Attach the file called [thompson-plans] on [Thompson Deck Rebuild] in Projul to the [Tear out existing deck] task.
The same phrasing attaches a file to an estimate or a change order. For a line item, ask your AI to turn on photos for that line in the same request, or the client will not see it.
Put the photo [ledger-board] on the [Pressure-treated framing lumber and hardware] line of the [Thompson Deck Rebuild] estimate in Projul and show photos on that line.
Where attachments can go
Every file belongs to one project. Attaching does not copy it, it tells Projul where else to show it, so the crew sees the plan on their task and the photo sits on the estimate line. Task attachments can be added or removed at any time. Estimate and line attachments can only change while that version is a Draft, waiting for review, or sent back for revision, and is not locked for editing; once published, sent or approved, its attachments are fixed. A note's attachments are set when it is written, so ask your AI to write the note and attach the file together. A file cannot be added to a note that already exists.
Note: Your AI works with jpg, jpeg, png, gif, bmp, pdf, txt, csv, doc, docx, xls and xlsx files. An HEIC photo straight off an iPhone sits in "Photos & files" but your AI cannot see or attach it.
Relabeling and moving files
Your AI can also rename a file, add a note to it, or move it to a different project. The file itself never changes. To replace a photo, add the new one in Projul or with an upload-capable tool, then have your AI remove the old one. See How do I have my AI upload a job-site photo or document?.
What you will see
Your AI asks you to approve the action first. In Projul, the file then shows up in its new place: on the task card under "See Photos" or "See Files", under the estimate's attachment count, on the line item under "Photos" once you expand it, or on the note itself.
