Describe the remodel and your AI builds the estimate in Projul: a section per phase, each line's quantity, unit, cost and markup filled in. It lands in "Estimates" as a Draft, totaled.
What to say to your AI
Name the sections in order, then each line's quantity, unit, cost and markup.
Build an estimate in Projul for [Rivera Kitchen Remodel]. Sections in this order: protection and demolition, rough plumbing and electrical, insulation and drywall, cabinets and countertops, tile and flooring, paint and trim, permits and fees. Protection and demolition: floor protection [320 sq ft at $0.85] plus [20]%, [16] hours of tear-out labor at [$48] plus [40]%. Cabinets and countertops: semi-custom cabinets [$14,200] plus [22]%, [28] hours to install at [$58] plus [40]%. Permits and fees: building permit [$385], no markup, not taxable. Apply our [Utah] sales tax and tell me the estimate number and the total.

Sections, quantities and markup
Sections can hold subsections one level deep, so "Materials" and "Labor" can sit under "Cabinets and countertops." Every line carries a type, quantity, unit, cost and markup, a percent or flat dollar, set per line, and Projul totals it like the estimate editor. Lines are taxed individually, so say when one should not be.
Selections, tax and change orders
Your AI can turn a section into a selection: "Required single selection" (pick one), "Optional single selection" (one or none), or "Optional multiple selection" (any number). Price by allowance, naming the line, such as "Plumbing fixture allowance." A new section shows only its name and total until you ask for detail. See How do I use subsections, selections and display-only sections with my AI?. Tax applies only when you name a Projul tax rate; saved discounts apply by name. See How does my AI calculate prices, markup and tax?. Scope changes go on a change order; removed work is a display-only section, counted as a deduction. See How do I have my AI add a change order?.
Things to know
Note: Your AI writes to an estimate only while it is a Draft or under review; once approved, changes go on a change order. The job needs a lead or project first, which holds only one estimate. See How do I have my AI handle remodeling leads and follow-ups?.
Note: Publishing, sending, approving and invoicing happen in Projul; click "Estimates" for the new Draft. See Can my AI publish or send an estimate?. Building it often? Save it as a template. See How do I build and reuse estimate, section and line-item templates with my AI?.
