How do I connect Zapier, Make or n8n to Projul?

Zapier, Make and n8n connect to Projul through Projul AI Connect's REST API, using your tool's own HTTP and webhook steps with a Projul AI Connect API key. The Projul app in Zapier's directory is a separate, older integration with one action, "Create Lead", connected by signing in rather than a key.

Get a key and set up the request

Create a key under "Settings" and "Projul AI Connect". A Read-Write key is needed to create or change records; see Should I give my AI a Read key or a Read-Write key?

The

  1. Add an HTTP step pointed at https://connect.projul.com/v1 plus the resource path.
  2. Add an Authorization header set to Bearer plus your key, and a Content-Type header of application/json.
  3. On a create step, add Idempotency-Key. On an update or delete step, add If-Match with the record's last-read "version" value.

Example: create a lead from a form

Set the HTTP step to POST https://connect.projul.com/v1/projects and map your form fields into a body like this.

Projul creates the lead under the "New" stage of "Lead pipeline" and links or creates the matching client. The response includes the record's id (a project id starts prj_, a client id cus_) and the project number, such as P-1598, empty if your account has auto-numbering off.

Avoid duplicate leads on retries

Automation tools retry failed steps, which can create the same lead twice. Give Idempotency-Key a value unique to the submission, such as its form submission id. Retrying within 24 hours with the same key and body returns the record already created, and a failed request never uses up its key. The same key with a different body is refused as idempotency_key_reuse.

Send events back out

To trigger a workflow on something happening in Projul, such as a task changing or an estimate accepted, register a webhook. Add the trigger that catches a webhook in your tool, "Catch Hook" in Zapier, "Custom webhook" in Make or "Webhook" in n8n, copy its address, and register it with Projul AI Connect for the events you want.
