To add a client, tell your AI the person's name and any contact details you have. Projul creates the client right away, exactly as if you had clicked "+ New client" yourself.
What to say
A name is enough, but the more you give, the more complete the record is. Your AI needs a Read-Write key connected to make changes; see How do I get my Projul AI Connect API key? if you have not set that up.
Add a new client to Projul named [Sam Rivera], mobile [(435) 555-0187], email [sam.rivera@example.com], address [418 W Tabernacle St, St. George, UT 84770].
Your AI can also fill in a company name and whether to show it on documents, more than one email or phone number with a label such as "MOBILE" or "WORK EMAIL", a website, a client number of your own, additional contacts such as a spouse or property manager, and the sales rep, estimator or project manager assigned to the client. Just say it in plain English.
Add [Dale Thompson] as a client in Projul with email [dale@example.com]. Add his wife [Karen Thompson] as an additional contact, and put [Mike] on it as the sales rep.
What you will see
Your AI asks you to approve the action before it writes anything. Once you allow it, it confirms the client was created, or tells you it matched an existing one instead. In Projul, click "People" then "Clients" in the menu on the left; the list is sorted by last name.
How duplicates are avoided
Projul looks for an existing client with the same first and last name and the same email or phone number before creating one. If it finds a match, no new client is created; the first email address and the first phone number you gave are added to that client if it does not already have them, but anything else you gave is not. If two or more clients match equally well, Projul creates a new client rather than guessing which one you meant.
A name alone is not enough to match on, since Projul cannot tell two people with the same name apart, so include a phone number or email when you can. If the matching client is archived, Projul refuses to create a duplicate and your AI tells you so; ask it to unarchive that client and it comes back active with the details it had.
To change a client's details later, see How do I have my AI update a client's contact details?.
