"To Write" is the section that contains all leads that have been seen by an estimator, but are waiting on the estimate to be written.
Below is an image of the "To Write" section within Projul's Lead Pipeline feature.
There is one manual method and two automated methods to move projects to different stages in the the Lead Pipeline.
Manual Method: Drag and drop the project into a new section
A project can be moved forward and backward through the lead pipeline. To do this, click and hold on the colored square on the left side of the project card and drag it into the desired lead pipeline status.
First Automated Method: Have an Estimator complete the "Write Estimate" task
If the project has been moved through all previous stages of the Lead Pipeline as designed, there should be a task assigned to the Estimator who completed the Estimate Meeting to write the estimate.
If the Write Estimate task does not exist within the Lead we are looking at, you can add it by following the steps laid out below.
First, click on the highlighted task list icon in the top right corner of the Lead. Within the task list, choose the "Add new task" option
Select the "Estimate Meeting" option beneath the Tasks subsection.
This will open up the Task Editing tool on the right hand side of the screen. Navigate to highlighted area in the image below and select the "Schedule Estimate Meeting" button.
Complete the two highlighted fields, "Who" and "When", with the Estimator you are assigning to this Lead and with the date and time agreed upon with the potential client. Once this information has been filled in accurately, exit out of the Task Editing sidebar.
Select the task list icon on the Lead. We will see that now the "Write Estimate" task has been created and assigned to our Estimator.
To move a Lead forward through the Lead Pipeline:
- Navigate to the Task List using the left sidebar
- Select the filter icon in the top right hand corner
- Input the Estimator's name in the empty search field
- Select the Estimator from the search results below
This will show only the tasks to which the Estimator is assigned to, simulating their Task List page on their own account.
Find the "Write Estimate" task associated with the lead, and there will be a toggle that says "Mark Write Estimate Complete," which can be toggled on.
Once the write estimate task was marked completed, the lead will automatically move from the "Write" section to the "Send" section.
Second Automated Method: Have an Admin user mark the estimate as written
Starting again from the Lead Pipeline once the "Write Estimate" task has been created and assigned to an Estimator:
- Select the "Next Action: Create Estimate" drop down menu in the bottom right corner of the Lead
- Select the bottom option, "Mark Estimate Written"
Now the Lead has been moved to the "To Send" section.
