Projul AI Connect stamps your clients, projects, estimates, tasks and estimate templates with a version every time they change. If your AI sends back an old stamp, Projul refuses the change with a "stale version" error instead of overwriting someone else's edit.
Why it happens
Say your AI reads a task at 9:00 to move it to Thursday, and your office manager drags the same task to Friday at 9:01. If your AI's older stamp went through, Friday would quietly disappear. Instead Projul sees the mismatch and refuses, so your AI re-reads the task, sees Friday, and either applies your change on top of it or asks which day you actually want.
Your AI usually handles this on its own, saying something like "the task changed since I read it, let me check again" before finishing the job. A "precondition required" error means it tried to change or delete something with no version stamp at all, or sent a wildcard instead of one; ask it to read the record first and try again.
Where this applies
Projul requires a fresh version stamp before deleting a client, project, or estimate; before updating a project; before writing to an estimate template; and before a task update that changes assignments or steps. It is optional but honoured on updating, archiving, or unarchiving a client, and on deleting or completing a task. Messages, files, teams, and taxes skip version stamps entirely, so the last write simply wins.
Deletes are checked the tightest, since a delete can never be undone.
What to do
Nothing, most of the time. If your AI keeps repeating the same error, tell it to read the record fresh and try again.
Read the task again from Projul and then make the change.
